About me

Hi! My name is Fanny Chellé, I am a French clarinetist who likes to navigates between classical music, contemporary music and free improvisation. I'm currently living in Switzerland (Zürich).

After my debut at the Conservatoire of Clermont-Ferrand in the class of Béatrice Berne, I continued my musical journey in Rennes where I studied at the Pont Supérieur d'Enseignement artistique with Etienne Lamaison. Having obtained a "Diplôme Supérieur Professionnel du Musicien » (2017) and a Diplôme d'Etat de professeur de clarinette (2018) in Brittany, I decided to continue my journey abroad and joined the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK).

I obtained there a Master of Music Performance in 2020 and a Master of Pedagogy in 2023 in the class of Matthias Müller and Fabio Di Casola.

I'm a teacher, also passionate about orchestra and chamber music, and I am part of several ensembles (see Projects). I created (between others projects) in 2017, with 5 musicians and friends I met in Rennes, the Mondkabarett Ensemble which specializes in the music of Schönberg (Pierrot Lunaire) and Kurt Weill.

Coming originally from the classical music, I also like to experiment with other aesthetics and I'm always looking for new experiences to diversify my artistic practice (musical theater, contemporary creations...). I became particularly curious and familiar with free improvisation when I arrived in Zürich (2018).

In 2022 I started my solo project Systéme D, for amplified clarinet and effects pedals, mixing improvisation and traditional music. Since 2022, I am also a member of the free improvisation group Hadaly Quartet (drums, bass, guitar and clarinet), based in Zurich.  â€‹
